maybe this is third decade life crisis talking...

Dalam perjalanan pulang dari kerja, terdetik hati untuk singgah ke Perpustakaan Hospital Sungai Buloh.. saja-saja, kut2 ada yang berkenan (walaupun sudah ada beberapa novel menunggu turn untuk dibaca).. memang terdapat kepuasan yang teramat luarbiasa setiap kali membeli buku, tak kiralah buku apa sekalipon, namun tak dapat dinafikan, meminjam buku di perpustakaan juga ada perasaan yang tidak kurang enaknya..the feeling of getting unlimited numbers of books FOR FREE!!! and they can be displayed on you bookshelf for at least 1 month! Mungkin ini sesuatu yang pelik, tapi saya juga mendapat satu kepuasan melihat susunan buku di rak buku..terasa puas hati...

Ketika di kaunter peminjaman, terlintas di fikiran saya, 'i wonder how it feels like to be a librarian..surrounded by books all day long'.. kerja yang tenang tidak perlu berlari-lari.. adakah ini normal? sering kali berdepan dengan orang lain yang sedang bekerja saya akan terfikir untuk 'best jug ye kalau kerja mcm ni...'... adakah ini bermakna saya tersilap memilih kerjaya?

tidak, tidak sekalipun saya menyesal dengan cita-cita saya ini...namun saya harus akui, ia bukanlah gayahidup ideal yang saya idamkan... jauh sekali saya ingin kufur nikmat yang Allah bagi..saya bersyukur... cuma saya berharap saya dapat lalui hidup yang saya inginkan..

Towel Obsessions!

I think i've shared few years ago about my obsessions for nicely folded newly-washed fluffy towels.. Last week, one of my patients surprised me with this custom-made couple towels.. I think she asked around about my husband's name, luckily she got it right ^_^ 

I dont think i've done anything extraordinary to her during her labour, but we dont know when we touched people's heart..in 100 patients we attend, Alhamdulillah 1 patient will appreciate us.. Labour process is not a fun thing, with all the screaming and all.. 

One Plus One by Jojo Moyes

Halfway through this book.. Saya tengah berkira-kira nak beli Me Before You and After You by the same author.. Tapi saya dah bace sinopsis dia dan saya takut saya tak suka  dying stories.. Saya suke life stories tapi jika saya tahu ade kesudahan yang adil.. Apa yang saya suka pada cerita ini adalah watak utamanya bukanlah seorang yang sempurna tapi mempunyai pemikiran besar.. Satu pertiga kisahnya adalah dalam perjalanan dari London ke upnorth Aberdeen.. setiap town yang disinggahi mereka menyebabkan rindu pada roadtrip di UK... 

Saya kini struggling untuk memupuk kembali fokus membaca seperti zaman remaja dahulu. Jika kanak-kanak yang terdedah kepada skrin terlalu lama dikatakan akan mengalami masalah fokus dan attention span, agak-agaknya saya pun mengalami perkara yang sama? 

Sejak masuk uni, saya rasa dah spend masa 2/3 hari di hadapan skrin, tak kiralah menonton atau melakukan kerja. dan sangat obvious kini saya tidak bole fokus pada pembacaan lebih 30minit. berbanding zaman remaja dahulu yang mampu tidak tidur malam untuk habiskan sebuah novel overnight. 

I have to change! I have to re-train myself. Limit my screen exposure. But I'm addicted! Saya takkan dapat lelap mata jika tak mendengar drama berkumandang disisi terutamnya sejak tidur sendirian sekarang. Okeh jom buat research pasal ni!!

construction baru mula

estimated akan siap in 2 years

JULY 2014 - JULY 2016 - 2 tahun kami berangan pasal rumah tu

tapi tak sempat savings langsung untuk nak renovate bila masuk disebabkan kami telah bercuti tanpa gaji selama setahun September 2014-September 2015 demi sebuah cita-cita dan ilmu

- but along the way kami ade jenguk2 construction sites

21 JULY 2016 - dapat kunci!!! banyak plan kami untuk rumah tu..

tapi kami janji dengan diri kami untuk bersabar dan buat perlahan-lahan

komitmen lain masih banyak

mula-mula masuk:

-cek semua benda yang tak puas hati - tanda dan email kepada developer

- so far sangat puts hate dungeon the floor plan

TAPI SANGAT KECEWA DENGAN TILING JOBS

-firstly mmg tak kemas - i mmg sgt particular melihat tiling lines

-susah nak suruh dia baiki balik sbb it's generally tk kemas

-mane-mane yang sgt obvious senget atau nampak simen mmg saya tanda untuk diorg tukar

-secondly, pemilihan tiles di bathroom and kitchen tak berape menyejukkan hati saya

tapi itu sahajalah ketidakpuasan hati saya

selain itu saya sangat bersyukur dikurniakan rezeki ini

the next job is kami tempah plaster ceiling untuk first floor

floor lain semua dah ready 

tatahu kenapa first floor je takde plaster ceiling

so kami tempah dengan subcontractor yang buat dengan developer tu

simple sahaja kami buat

plain with cornice skirting

cornice tu pon yang paling simple dan basic

i cuma nak ade lekuk sikit je 

i think they offered us a good price 

i memang takde survey lain

tp sebab paling senang dengan subcontractor ni sebab dia dah tahu semua pasal project tu

my main advice untuk sebuah rumah adalah:

decide on the concept that suits you

lepas tu takdela masalah nak deco camane2

because u kind of know what theme you are looking for

lepas tu takdela caca merba susah nak fit in the sofa and curtain etc

especially untuk kami yang hanya memang akan mampu buat satu persatu je

walaupon beli satu satu dan lambat-lambat, in the end they will come together because we have agreed on the concept and theme

and there is no ONE concept yang cantik untuk semua orang

apa yang sejuk di mata anda, itulah yang sesuai

later on, i might sound judgmental and harsh on the selection of things and colours, but please don't take it personally

it's just that i have really strong opinion on my things, but doesn't mean i personally judge u if u don't agree with me

tapi, saya memang jenis full of emotions and expressions

sometimes my head is too heavy with things to think and say

sampai adik-adik kata 'u nih semua bende pon ade nak komen'

no i'm not a complainer,

but i have something to say about everything

if i like something, i will go on and on positively about it

the same goes if i find something not to my likings, i will go on and on criticising it

so, can my blog be the place where i put down all my feelings and thinkings?

Nasi Dagang Terengganu Lemak Manis

Sebagai anak kacukan Kelantan-Terengganu, seringkali sukar membuat pilihan (okeh, maaf poyo di situ, kacukan konon!) Contoh pilihan sukar tu adalah 'nasi dagang terengganu ke nasi dagang kelantan lagi sedap?'.. Memang takde obligation untuk pilih punn sebenarnya.. 

Okeh untuk nasi dagang sebenarnya saya memang totally into nasi dagang Terengganu, ia lagi berlemak manis, tidak muak..gulainya juga jenis boleh tambah tambah takkan rase loya.. (Hanyalah pendapat peribadi saya)

Minggu lepas saya memang teringinnn sangat nak nasi dagang..kalau duk Terengganu memang senang la, take-away saje lah! Namun di sini susah kott nak cari yang best..jadi terpaksa buat sendiri.. Resepi nya saya tulis disini agar suatu hari nanti tak perlu lagi saya nak call Mummy setiap kali nak buat nasi dagang..mind you that this recipe is a my mun's modified version by combining tips from several different people..

Pertama sekali saya telah membeli pengukus baru..tidaklah cap buaya pon, sekadat cap kucing yg dijual di kedai serbaneka.. RM49 sahaja okeh! 

NASI

Beras pulut : beras biasa = 1:5

Rendam beras sekurang-kurangnya 8 hours (so start rendam the night before)

Kukus campuran beras selama 1jam (alas pengukus dengan kain Muslin)

Kemudian beras tadi pindah masuk bowl besar untuk di-arung dengan air panas mendidih.. 'Arung' bermaksud sedikit demi sedikit tambah liquid sambil kacau sambil tengok beras menyerap liquid tersebut.. 

Pindah beras yg di-arung tadi kembali ke dalam pengukus, kukus selama 15 minit seterusnya. Masa ni saya tambah halba. 

Pindah balik ke dalam bowl. Kali ini arung dengan campuran santan pekat. 

SANTAN PEKAT ini bercampur hirisan bawang merah dan hirisan halia dan garam dan gula (garam kene masin purit supaya apabila campur nasi nanti ade rase masin manis lemak).

Lepas arung tu kemas-kemaskan nasi tu tutup dengan daun pisang.

Senang sahaja sebenarnya kan! 

Gulainya plak saya takle nak share resipi la sbb saya pun main hentam sahaja.. 

 Takde kain muslin, terpaksa guna tudung bawal ekslusif 😂😂😂 

Ini setelah di-arung dengan santan sebelum tutup dengan daun pisang.

Gulai ikan tongkol,wajib ade cili api berenang-renang..kalau nak best mak kata kene letak belimbing, confirm saya takde.

Alhamdulillah inilah hasilnya, sempena harijadi Paih yang ke-32 mengikut tahun Hijrah, 5 Ramadhan.

Selamat Ulang Tahun Sayang

i have googled around to look for the best 'birthday speech for husband', but i realised that what comes out from my own mind might mean more to you... I will crack my head every year to think of the annual surprise for your birthday as i believed that it should be something you made on your own and not something that you can give on any other days..

i can't remember the birthday project i made for him on our first year, 2008..hmmm what was it? and i  stitched a meticulous cross-stitch project for him in 2009..2010 i made him a recipe scrapbook, compiling all his favourite foods with pictures of my attempts in making them..  2011, i was a mess! just started my horsemanship, so did nothing.. 2012 - i made a special cake for him in addition to my craftwork bedsheets project.. 2013 onwards, i can't remember, hmmmm...

so for this year, i've prepared just a simple surprise, waiting for him to come back on Friday (i haven't updated about our long-distance relationship yet).. and i'm planning for a healthy option of birthday cake.. can't wait to see how it turns out soon!!

and my mum were confused and asked 'ni birthday tahun ape ni? tahun cina ke tahun india?' because we had quite a few milestones to celebrate each year, birthday hijrah la birthday mash la, anniversary bercinta la, anniversary bertunang la, anniversary kawin la, anniversary jumpa la etc.. we are just looking for reasons to celebrate kot..

Being-there friends

Brownies reunited..memang sangat susah untuk dapat mengumpulkan the whole Brownies di satu tempat pada masa yang sama..kali nih tak lengkap tanpa Asma'.. But this is the best number we could gather.. Why Brownies? Sebenarnya nama jalan rumah diorg Brown's Road..saya ahli rumah tumpangan je hehehe.. Memang we call people based on their street name pun dulu kat Melbourne.. *sigh*those-were-the-days*again* .. 

2 of the Brownies have kids..another 3 Brownies are in line..2 are struggling with subfertility and another 1 is waiting for Mr.Right ^_^. 

I am forever thankful for friends like them.. Friends who are 'just there for u'..

Too Good To Be True

Being oncall on a weekend is not something we are excited about.. The heavy feeling usually will start even the day before the call day..it's just a feeling of 'hmmm there goes my weekend'.. I'm not whining about my work (eventho i am)..but i love my weekend-at-home better (who doesn't,right?).

The call started quietly..with everything under control..few of us just tossing around on the oncall bed..i got to finish my novel halfway..but i have the feeling thay 'this is too good to be true'..i never had this kind of call before this..so i uploaded the photo of my reading on IG at 4pm with a caption about how i'm enjoying a good read surin oncall...thennn...everything started.. Few postpartum haemorrhages and lots of dramas etc..

So the moral of the story, never speak too soon..hihihi.. 

P/s: i'll be oncall again tomorrow, may Allah ease everything.. 

Menara Kuala Lumpur di Malam Minggu!

Dah oncall EOD camni memang rase bosannn sangat, nak jugak jalan-jalan tak kirela ke mana pon..dh lps supper, kami ke KL Tower..kat luar tu je pon ambik gambar.. 

Pernah naik ke observatory deck tu dulu mase form 3, lawatan sekolah..dah tak ingat sangat dah.. Tapi rupa-rupanya best jugak jalan-jalan di negara sendiri.. 

Samaa je pesen gambar sebab duk betul-betul bawah tower kan, tu je caranya nak bagi tower tu masuk fambar..

oh saya apatah lagi excitednye sebab tak perlu fikir-fikir cari idea dah

kami dah makan macam-macam jenis asam pedas, tp paling kami suka adalah asam pedas melaka..

macam lagi pekat kan..

saya tiru sebijik-sebijik resepi dari Mat Gebu

tapi saya punye kurang merah sebab tak pakai cili kering blend sendiri kot..

cili boh saya mmg ke-oren-an sikit..

memang gigih singgah kedai balik keje beli bahan supaya lengkap bau dan rasa 

Paih menambah 3 kali..tu pon sebab nasi dah habis..

sejukk hati isteri memasak kan..

okeh bunga kantan ade lebih ni, laksa penang kot next?

Crushing Candy Addiction

When Candy Crush started to become a craze few years ago, i could still hold back and did not involve myself with the crowd.. but one day i could not resist because my boss was giving me step-by-step instructions on 'how to install candy crush'..i was like 'hmmm, not that didn't know hot to download, it's just that i'm not interested' but i installed them anyway.. 

...and the waves began...i could not put down my phone, addicted!

both me and Paih were hooked..until one day my boss said 'there goes your s*x life' because i told her we both were crazy competing for the better rank..

erkkk, i have no comment about that....but eventually i uninstalled the game from my phone, to prepare myself as a full time student, with minimal distractions..

i had candy-crush-break for about a year, until recently i re-installed it, with the intention to reduce my internet data plan usage..

and again, i am hooked..

i know this is nothing new, but i have concluded several main points on the 

'influence of candy crush on my life'

-yes, less data plan wasted on scrolling the social media 24/7

-no more boring waiting time

on the other side,

-my photo album are all haywire as the dates are all wrong, i kept on changing the date back and forth to get more 'lives'

-my battery died very very fast

-i walked with my eyes stuck on the phone (the sight that me myself loath)

one day i said to Paih when we both were playing Candy Crush while waiting for our food in a restaurant 'sayang, kite bahagia kan? ni fire cara kite spend time and communicate la kan? sbb kite dual happy kan main candy crush?'

LOL paih was like 'erk, ni cube sedapkan hati ke ape ni?'

but yes, we are happy with Candy Crush!

Our Heaven-to-be..

 we have our Sunday all planned out since few days ago

bangun pagi awal, peri breakfast, deal untuk jumpa kat rumah Kak Linee untuk visit new baby pukul 10 pagi..

Alang-alang dah datang area selatan, kami singgah untuk melihat perkembangan rumah kami..

tak banyak perubahan sejak sebulan lalu..

memang final touch up akan slow dan lama kot..

semua tiles dah lama pasang

wiring semua nampak dh ade..

cume sink and toilet bowl tk pasang lg..

bath tub nampak dah passing.. so tatahu nak agak-agak bulan berapa siap projek tu..

excited? of course la kan..OUR FIRST HOME

mula-mula masuk rumah tu kita makan nasi ngan telur kicap je la dulu ye nak melengkapkan segala keperluan interior rumah tu..huhuhu..

 (sedang berbincang-bincang nak letak swimming pool kat balcony kalau Luqman datang :p)

semoga dipermudahkan segalanya..

we know it's not going to be the best, but it'll be just perfect for us..

To Dr Sarah and Oncall Team

The staff at the labour room counter called me and said 'Dr Sarah, ade something ni kat kaunter, dari yang tersayang'..and i was like 'hmm, husband saya tk outstation pon' because usually he surprises me only when he's away, biasala kan absence makes your heart grow fonder.. 

Oh rupenye a 'fruit bouquet' from one of the patient..she didnt mention her names but i searched the delivery logbook and found out who she was ^_^ 

The fruits were huge and heavy! I was so excited as i've never seen such an arrangement, It has just made my day after a tiring ward-round and i went home  smiling..thinking that sometimes works are not always depressing..

Thanks a lot Baby and Mom! 

Shop with Muchpop

This is something that i thought i will never do, venture into our own business!! Not that i dont believe in 'doing businesess' but somehow i feel that i am an enterpreneur material..shy shy like this LOL..but an opportunity knocked on our door, and we grabbed it! And surprisingly i'm enjoying it, the planning of it, the searching of materials.. 

In next few days, we are introducing MUCHPOP FOR CLOSET right to your doorstep!

We have personally handpicked all the tops and bottoms for our collection, with our own little ones (Umar, Luqman, Maryam and Lutfi) in mind to guide our choice..

We'll be sharing our journey through muchpopcloset.blogspot.my, and i am sooo excited!!! 

Day Whatever

As I scrolled down my previous entries, I cant help but felt frustrated with my current diet. The last entry on my 'healthy eating' was only until Day 8 (but rest assured it lasted more than that).. This 'healthy eating' thing requires a lot of strong willpower, energy and even money.. 

We tried our best to merge our routine meals with the 'suggested healthier options', but it's like a yo-yo. It depends on our groceries timing, and healthy food in Malaysia is no kidding way more expensive. But, to feel less guilty, we totally avoid junk food and soft drinks. We never deep-fry our food anymore, use Actifry instead. 

This was our Kueyteow Bandung for  dinner last night. It is not a perfect meal, at least it's not too oily. This is my first attempt on kuah bandung, combined together few different recipes from Google. The only thing i didn't add was ubi keledek blend, but i put more dried shrimps. 

The only judge was Paih, and as usual my meal is marvellous to his tastebuds ^_^

My Manja dah kahwin

Jodoh itu rahsia Allah..siapa sangka Aisyah yang pemalu dan pendiam itu cepat jodohnya..

Kakak mengucapkan Selamat Pengantin Baru Aisyah & Farhan.. Anniversary kite nak dekat2 nombornye Sya, awak 2.4 and mine 4.2. (Nak jugak masuk cite kan)

Saaangat banyak gambar-gambar best mase majlis haritu, tak tahu nak pilih yg mane but this one is the most meaningful, sebab lengkap semua ahli keluarga termasuk kakak sulung.
